International Health Tourism Forum
The City of Lublin as a Lublin Medicine Cluster coordinator is pleased to invite representatives of companies and institutions involved in the development of health tourism to the International Health Tourism Forum – Lublin 2019 which will be held on October 7, 2019 in ECOTECH–COMPLEX in Lublin, Poland.
About THE forum
Last year the City of Lublin hosted the first edition of an international conference Health and Medical Tourism Summit – Eastern Europe 2018, which was attended by 250 participants from 20 countries, including 20 medical tourism intermediaries and 30 panellists from countries such as Hungary, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Latvia, Great Britain, Israel and the USA. We hope to organise our summits every two years.
This year we offer another form of meeting – the Forum. We expect our event to be attended by over 100 participants from about 10 countries and more than 25 speakers and panellist: medical tourism experts, intermediaries, representatives of public administration, clusters, associations in health tourism, medical and wellness services providers.
As the health tourism market is very dynamic, there is a need for decision makers and practitioners representing business to meet at least once a year and discuss current trends, experiences, opportunities and limitations of development, good practices and the role of advanced technologies in patient care processes.
The Forum will be held in English. Simultaneous interpreting into Polish will be provided.
Participation in the Forum is free of charge.
Lublin, an administrative centre of the voivodeship, the capital of Lublin Region, and home to 340,000 inhabitants, is the biggest city in Eastern Poland.
The top-ranked Lublin medical service sector not only provides healthcare to the residents of the city and region, but it is also one of the most popular destinations for medical tourism in Poland and Europe. Well-qualified specialists working in the highest-standard healthcare centres, as well as scientific facilities of the Medical University, are the sector’s top assets.
The sector’s potential is strengthened by Lublin Medicine Cluster – a cooperation platform among higher education institutions, research centres, healthcare entities, entrepreneurs, business environment institutions and local authorities. The aim of this initiative is to support the development of the medical and wellness industry (Lublin Medicine Cluster).
Lublin is an academic centre recognised in Poland and abroad, having a rich educational offer. The city is also a hub of a bustling cultural life boasting various events held annually which attract a wide audience. The Night of Culture, “Codes” Festival of Traditional and Avantgarde Music, “Theatre Confrontations”, the International Dance Theatre Festival, the “Magicians” Carnival, the Jagiellonian Fair or the “East of Culture” – Different Sounds Art’n’Music Festival, some of which are Lublin’s flagship cultural events.
Every year Lublin and the Lublin Region attract growing numbers of tourists. Very often they fly to Lublin Airport located only 15 kilometres from the City centre.
